Asian Football Confederation AFC telah mengesahkan bahawa pasukan JDT dari Malaysia menarik diri dari saingan Kumpulan G AFC Champions League 2020 di Qatar. Oleh demikian hanya 3 pasukan sahaja bakal berentap iaitu Vissel Kobe JPN, Guangzhou Evergrande CHN dan Suwon Samsung Bluewings KOR.
Artikel 6.1 dan 6.2.1 Peraturan Pertandingan AFC Champions League 2020, semua perlawanan Johor Darul Ta’zim dianggap batal. Untuk mengelakkan keraguan, semua mata dan gol dalam perlawanan tersebut tidak akan dipertimbangkan ketika menentukan kedudukan akhir di Peringkat Kumpulan.
Keputusan ini adalah yang terbaik untuk semua, diharapkan tahun yang mendatang pasukan dari Malaysia akan comeback buat kejutan di AFC Champions League
